Week 24

Hello!
Great News, I am staying in Carson City for another transfer WOOOO! :) I didn't want to leave it to my companion anyways.. He's offended a lot of members and investigators because he's a bit over aggressive . At church everyone told me I better not be transfered and that they wanted me to be the missionary leader in the area and how I'm  friendly and care alot about them etc etc. He wasnt there, we were on splits. Kind of sad though that he doesn't care if he offends people.

We had such a good week though. filled with sweet fun stories as well.
Crazy story. We were walking and stuff and I was like man there is a rock in my shoe it felt like I was getting poked with a rock, for like an hour. So I finally took off my shoe to take it out. A NAIL was through my shoe. and it was over an inch long! So I was like CRAPPPP and it was covered in rust. Take off my sock. Not a scratch or cut at all it was definitely a miracle.

We were talking to this really cool guy who used to be a boxer/gangster. We started talking about guns. He showed me his Springfield XDM's and then was like well if anyone bothers you man just let me know and we can take care of it. It was crazy. Hes a really nice guy though. He was making a joke, but it was funny.

Its been raining allllll week. Its been crazy here. We were asked to move someone when it was puring rain and I was in the back of a truck loading everything in.

One of our members looks like he would be a doctor in a spanish soap opera its so funny. I'll send a picture.
We've had so many really good lessons this week though its been cool. Not a whole lot of time to talk about them.
at exercise in the morning we were playing soccer and I kicked the ball really hard, right as a sister put her foot in front of the ball. I literally swept her off her feet LOL. She was laughing though. So it was all good.

Another funny story. Soooo.. We were talking to these latino guys and they liked us a lot. Enough so that they invited us to a private strip club party in their back room and we were like uhmmmmm We cant go. So then they were like dude I'll take you to one then on your day off! It was funny. Silly people. Lots of people in my district and zone are switching.
Have a good week.

Week 23

Hello all!
To start this week off, I would like to tell a story.
I received a love letter from one of our investigators. She is 18. At church yesterday she slipped a note into my bag (not sure when.. but it had to of been during church). Suffice to say, we will be handing her off to other missionaries now LOL! Not sure she really thought the note through though.... Oh well it was pretty funny. Sucks though because wellllll, she is going to be baptized in like 2 weeks or so.

At zone training an Elder said something super funny that rhymes. Here it is:
"The book is blue (Book of Mormons that we hand out as missionaries are blue), the church is true, just as Jesus cause he's Mormon too.

I died of laughter.
We got trained to be ESL teachers this past week for teaching english.

Another funny story, One of the members of the church, she came out with us the other day. She doesn't speak very good English, but she came out and then we found out that she skipped the dinner appointment she had made with the Sisters to come out with us hahahaha! They had talked to her that morning and everything lol.

One of our investigators, Jacky, asked us if she gets baptized if she could go on a mission. that was super cool, she's a daughter of a less active member of the church.

We had a dessert auction in our ward. Some members sponsored us and said we could use 100 bucks. We bid on this lemon pound cake and another person went to $105. The lady who sponsored us looked at us and then was like "$150!" it was super crazy. It tasted delicious though.

Another investigator named Kristy, she's friends with a family here and her parents took her to church again and they asked us what would she need to do to get baptized, that was awesome. she's getting baptized in 2 weeks lol.

Love you all!

Week 22

Hi,
Not a whole lot has happened this past week so this won't be too long I dont think.
I was at a members house eating dinner though and I saw something that made me laugh, it was a count down timer until Obama is out of office haha! Apparently its a thing in Nevada, I've learned lots of people around here don't like him. Anyways though.

We had zone conference this past week. We all have to prepare talks and 2 people are called on to give their talk. I saw the presidents program because he had it sitting there open for all to see and I was like SWEET I dont have to speak! Then right as the meeting is starting I see him start changing the program and looks right at me and I was like looks like I'm speaking now. Sureeeeeee enough I did haha. I had woken up that night too at like 3 am and had several thoughts and completely changed my talk so I thought I would be giving a talk.

At zone conference I took notes and this is what I liked the most:
"Satan doesn't have to tempt us to do bad things, he can simply keep us occupied by doing acceptable things to distract us from what we should be doing" Elder Richard G. Scott

We brought a non member out with us to a lesson this past week as well ! He is married to a member and has been investigating the church for like 15 years. We brought him to a person who is in the exact same boat. Married a member and investigating for 15 years and that lesson went super well. In it Andy (I've talked about him before) said that he doesn't care how our church started or anything like that the fact is, is that it is the only church in the entire world that actually works. with the support system and all that type of thing. I read another really good talk this past week you guys should definitely read. it is called: What is the Blue Print of Christ's Church? - Elder Tad. R. Callister

Another interesting experience we had was we met with a less active who is a native american and she was telling us that the reason she joined the church is because in her tribe they told stories that were hand in hand with the things in the Book of the Mormon. That was interesting to me.

Funny story of the week this past week I forgot my electric shaver in the other bathroom (where my comp was showering) so I decided to use my razor and for some reason I decided not to use shaving cream or water or anything. Straight up dry shave. WORST mistake. my skin got super irritated. and this is where it gets funny, part way through the day it literally looked like I hadn't shaved my mustache and so I looked like a pedo for part of the day because of the stache.......talk about awkward haha!! Several people commented on it too.

Week 21

Things in Carson are still great! My companion and I are killin' it. Elder Gallini has been teaching me a lot. We've been having upward of 40 lessons weekly. We have several people who agreed to be baptized and have dates to be.
One of our investigators texted us last night saying she wish she could get baptized so that was kind of funny haha!

We got "big brother" devices installed in our cars this past week. They are the worst. The idea behind them is of course really good. It talks to us. It will tell us to check our speed, agressive driving for example, if you drive over a bump at more than 10 mph, which sucks because there are TONS of dips in carson and you cant see them half the time until youre about 15 feet in front of it. the struggle man.. ;) Its okay though my comp hates it. We have to log into it with a special card and everything. When the system was getting tested, the guy used my card and logged on apparently! He was like "dont worry I only gave you a few infractions"

We had a really interesting experience this past week. We were reading 3 Nephi 11 with angel's mom and she started crying like crazy and she prayed to see if she could be baptized. She said she felt the spirit and knew she needed to be. and thennnnn she was like. But I'm Catholic so no I'm not going to be. She doesn't go to church or anything. I find it very interesting though most of the people over here are Catholics and most don't go to church or even believe in the Catholic church. And they refuse to be baptized etc etc. I just think its really interesting is all.

I went on exchanges this past week with a new elder named Elder Leon and he is super cool. Hes been in the states for 1 year on a mission for 3 weeks. He is super great though. We had a really good time together. Taught 10 lessons that day too! *high fives self* :)

Im starting to get that classic watch tan line. Its been 80s most of last week.

More of a short email this week. Im sure that there are lots of funny stories I could tell butttttttttttt thats okay. I dont have much time this week.
