Week 20

It was raining several days this past week. A little thunder even, it was nice. Reminded me of the good ol' northwest. My shoulder is finally better, I can start doing push ups again. This is the shoulder that I hurt when I fell into that counter top 2 weeks ago when I passed out. Whoops! :)

I got my hair cut for the first time professionally! I have a picture of that somewhere.
Everyone always thinks I'm 18 when they see me. Everyone thinks my companion is 25, he's 19.

On Saturday we had 8 people at our English class. Most people so far wooooo! Someone there had just come from California with his girlfriend. Her ex husband she had just left was.. Well very abusive and almost killed her. Her current boyfriend she had met online and they had talked a little and then when she told him about her ex husband, he DROVE  from Wisconsin. to California, to get her and take her and her two kids away. Keep in mind they had never met in person. They got to Carson City where I am and looked up the local LDS church because he was a member for 24 years and she wasnt religious at all. Just so happens as they get to the church we are about to start our english class. They are latino. boom. new investigator! That was pretty cool. We taught them last night, midway through the lesson I felt like I needed to ask Ernesto if he wanted a blessing. Ernesto is a member we brought with us he's awesome. He recently has been coming back to church and wants to go to the temple and whatnot. He is 28 and  was inactive for years. He was so excited he said he hadn't had one in years. He is great though! thats all for now kids!

Week 19

 Hello All!
Things are going great for me! My new companion is great we've been having a lot of success. He's from Texas. He has a Texas flag hanging above his bed, a jar of Texas soil below the bed, tons of Texas stuff its pretty funny. Aly (my sister in law) would just love him haha!

Elder Gallini is super funny though. He told me one of the days that he wants to take pictures with every pretty girl he sees. Hes a really good missionary though. This past week we hit the highest numbers we ever have. The district (5 companionships) had 165 lessons total. of that my comp and I had almost 50 of them. Which the closest I've ever seen to that was 36. We've had a lot of success. Definitely as an obedient and diligent missionary you can tell based on our days. Also we got 20 new investigators this week which is unheard of.

Had an interesting comp study this past week we were talking about families and what constitutes what people would call a "fairy tail" family. We decided it was a families diligence to follow the commandments. If you think about it though it is pretty true.

We got invited to a quincenera this past week! It's in a month though. One of our less actives, we met her daughter (who accepted being baptized by the way) they were practicing doing their dance and my former companion had recalled that I had done dance before and so he told them that and then they wanted help haha... I was like welllll I can give you tips butttttt I'm not supposed to dance while i'm a missionary. It was cool though. Jackie (the daughter) is the sister of the girl Janet who the first time we met her started crying after she prayed and said she felt the spirit . Except the next time we went over there they had a "random" question for us and asked if we could date non mormons (if mormons in general could) sooooo that was interesting. Hopefully they aren't getting the wrong idea there.

Since my previous companion has left I have found out that several people really did not like him. Investigators and members a like. Thought that was really interesting. buttttttt oh well. No ones perfect but he was a good missionary over all.

We went to a baptism this past week and it was 2 people in their late 20s and then a daughter that was 3 (she wasnt baptized of course) but as her mom was about to be baptized the daughter screamed "NO MOMMY DON'T DROWN!!!!" it was so funny.

ileana (lilly) that girl who I confirmed a member of the church two weeks ago we talked to her about doing a baby blessing for her son and she wants to. She said she thinks she wants me to do that. Every one always asks me to do the blessings and stuff haha! Its ridiculous (but cool) I mean I havent done most of those things so more experience for me right?

I am unsure of what else to say. The days start to blend together though. Every week seems to pass way quick.
Love you all!

Week 18

 Hello all!
Tons of things happened this week it was such a productive week. We got 10 new investigators! Normally we get likeeeeeee 3.
Remember last week how I said no one wanted to do an easter egg hunt? yea. They suprised myself and Sis. Pearson. It was legittttttt. I will send pictures of it! :)

Speaking of Sister Pearson, her and my companion Elder Arellano are both getting transfered! The district actually has a ton of changes but those are the only 2 that I've mentioned before that you guys might possibly remember. I am getting someone whose been out almost 1 year. I cant remember his name but i've heard some really good things about him.

One of the sister missionaries (Sis. Christensen) told me that she had a dream that I found a girl while I was a missionary. I was like oh WOW. Speaking of her! She is training Sister Barker WHO! I have talked with before. She is from D.C. and was in a ward my little sister Kali served in in October when she got her mission call to my mission. So that is pretty cool.

We went to an investigators house looking for her and ended up talking to her daughter instead who we had never met. apparently shes been having some problems in her life lately though. Started talking about prayer. We taught her to pray so she did. Said amen, she looked up said "I felt that" and just started crying it was super cool!

Kind of funny story, I met a lady the other day and she asked if I was from Cardsten Alberta! I was like" no but my grandpa is from there why do you ask?" apparently she knows a lot of Quintons there. small world eh? I suppose I am related to them.

Another funny story, I passed out hard yesterday. I was fasting right... and we went to this guys house and he started telling us in detail about several of his heard surgeries, etc etc. I was doing real good at first. Butttttttttt since I didnt have any food or water It didn't help. Classic Caleb. Passing out over gory stories. Anyways so he's towards the end of the story and I started getting light headed and I was like Im super sorry but.. I NEED TO SIT DOWN NOW! and he didnt realize my urgency but he started walking to get a chair, I followed one step and that was the last thing I remember of my eyes being open. I crashed into a sharp corner with my shoulder which hurt. I somehow walked across the whole kitchen though but I don't remember doing it. But I am good! :) I ate right after that. made me feel loads better.

Thats all for now!

Week 17

Hello! :)
I hope you all had a pleasant easter. I was sad because this is probably the first year that I havent done an easter egg hunt! My family does it every year with all our adult children it is the best. One of the sisters in my district, her family does that same thing every year with adult children so we were going to do that today on pday butttttttttt no other companionships wanted to have fun soooooo.. sadness..

One of my zone leaders got made the new assistant so we've been stuck in a trio all week. Its been difficult because my comp and I cover 2 areas and so do the zone leaders. So we are trying to juggle 4 areas between 3 of us. Its kind of difficult.

Funny story of the week. After the first session of general conference, One of the spanish sisters (pearson) stood up and an easter egg fell I think off her skirt but I was like "look she laid an egg!" they started dying. and then her companion was like "wait.. who was the rooster?" That was very unexpected of her to say.

Miracles we saw this week.

Our less active, Pinky, asked at the end of our lesson the other day "How would I go about getting one of those Book of Mormon things?" His wife is a less active too and she has one but apparently he doesnt! He's 75 i'll send you a picture I took with him the other day. That very morning we had found a big version of the BOM and he"s old and would need one so that was cool. When we gave it to him he got all excited and hugged it! It was cool.

Andy Started reading the BOM this past week.

I weighed myself this past week. I have still not gained any weight wooooo! :)

I don't have a lot to say this week. Have a great day!
